Melrose Pole Raising

A long standing tradition, the pole raising ceremony is held every Presidential election year. Political party posters are attached to the pole before raising it at the Twp hall. Luncheon and refreshments and a little politicking goes on here.
The democrats gave up on this a few years past and the event is now a Republican gathering. held on Saturday, Sept 30th, 2000.
