Rule XII. Documents and Court Files

A. Filing of Documents
All documents, except orders and decrees, shall be filed with the Clerk of the Court prior to their presentment to the court.

B. Removal of Files
Original files, documents or exhibits shall not be removed from the office of the circuit clerk or from the courtroom without filing a written receipt therefore. The Circuit Clerk may in his discretion may require leave of court before releasing any file, document, or exhibit. Such files, documents or exhibits shall not be retained more than two court days without leave of court.

C. Cases Under Advisement
In any case where the court has kept a motion or other matter under advisement more than 60 days (30 days in small claims cases) after the last brief is due, or if none is due, from the last hearing, the judge having the matter under advisement shall notify the Chief Judge. The notice must be in writing, identify the case, state the reason a decision has not been rendered, and state the date s decision may be reasonably expected. Upon inquiry of any party of record, the Chief Judge shall advise whether he has received such notice.
